Ramadan
Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, reflection, gratitude, and prayer for Muslims. Muslims around the globe respectfully welcome this blessed guest every year as Ramadan is when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the initial revelations of the Holy Quran.
Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. During Ramadan, Muslims do not eat or drink from dawn to sunset, and they invite friends and relatives daily to share an Iftar meal to break their daily fasting.
Eid-al-Fitr is regarded as a time to celebrate, with Muslims gathering their friends and family to show gratitude toward God following the previous month of reflection and appreciation. The holiday serves as an excellent reminder for Muslims to be grateful for what they have and to share with those who may be less fortunate.
Note: Breaking fast is by the sunset!
