Dr. Gant is a retired psychiatrist, educator, and dedicated community volunteer whose career has centered on mental health, education, and service. After beginning her professional journey as a high school biology and chemistry teacher, she worked in molecular biology at Vanderbilt University and later completed her medical education and psychiatry training. She served communities in Tennessee and Utah throughout her distinguished career, retiring from Utah’s community mental health system in 2015.
Dr. Gant also brings extensive cross-cultural engagement experience. Since 2004, she has hosted dozens of international exchange students and visitors through PAX, the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program, and Utah Global Diplomacy.
Her commitment to mental health, education, international understanding, and compassionate service strongly aligns with EHI’s mission. We are honored to welcome Dr. Gant and look forward to the insight, experience, and warmth she will bring to our organization.
