On September 19, 2026, Emerald Hills Institute spent a wonderful evening with youth and families from a South Jordan congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The gathering included dinner, games, and meaningful conversation. During the evening, EHI Executive Director Zeynep Kariparduc introduced Noah’s Pudding, also known as Ashura—a cherished tradition inspired by the story of the Prophet Noah.
Noah holds an important place in both Christianity and Islam. Sharing this traditional dessert gave participants an opportunity to learn more about one another’s beliefs and recognize the values our faith traditions share.
Youth, parents, and community members gathered around the same table, enjoyed the pudding, and connected through conversation. The evening showed how sharing a meal and a meaningful tradition can help build genuine relationships and greater mutual understanding.
