Alaa holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Science, which she earned in 2012. Her professional experience spans accounting, real estate, and event planning. She has worked in accounting for several years and continues to serve as an accountant alongside her career as a licensed Realtor in Utah. In her real estate work, she enjoys helping individuals and families in her community navigate the process of buying and selling their homes. Alaa is also a co-founder of Peony & Pearl Events, an event planning and decorating business.

Community service has long been an important part of Alaa’s life. She previously served for two years on the board of the Kurdish Community in Utah and has actively volunteered with various organizations and community events. She has also served as a Master of Ceremonies for cultural and community gatherings, helping create welcoming experiences for participants from many backgrounds.

Alaa is passionate about bringing people together and building meaningful connections across cultures and communities. Her experience in financial management, real estate, event planning, board service, and community engagement will bring valuable insight to EHI’s programs and organizational growth.

Alaa is also a wife and proud mother of three boys. We are honored to welcome her to the EHI Board of Directors and look forward to her leadership and contributions.
